Tax Update: Administrative Penalty Relief for Late Corporate Tax Registration

Administrative Penalty Relief for Late Corporate Tax Registration

In a major step to support businesses and encourage early tax compliance, the UAE Ministry of Finance and the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) have announced a new Cabinet Decision introducing a relief initiative.

Under this initiative, certain Corporate Tax registrants—including businesses subject to Corporate Tax and exempt entities required to register—can benefit from an administrative penalty waiver if they failed to register on time.

Key Conditions for Relief:

  • Eligible entities must submit their Corporate Tax return or annual declaration (as applicable) within 7 months from the end of their first tax period.
  • The waiver only applies if the above condition is met in full accordance with the Corporate Tax Law.

What You Should Do Now:

If you or your business missed the tax registration deadline, make sure to file your return or declaration within 7 months of the end of your first tax period to take advantage of this waiver.
